AttorneyReportCards™ (ARC) is a sensible system for assessing the quality of an attorney's work. Current and prospective clients can access the report. The purpose is to be a useful resource for those who are looking for excellent lawyers to provide them with quality services in a caring and ethical way. It is also a resource for businesses, individuals and government who wish to have a better appraisal of their attorney. In addition to personal meetings and talking to friends, it helps clients make good hiring choices.
The AttorneyReportCards™ approach is unique. Attorneys who are enrolled in the program display their ratings based on a 360 degree evaluation system. Martindale, Super Lawyer and Best Lawyers are excellent reference programs. They are based primarily on peer ratings. The ARC system provides additional useful perspectives on a budget minded basis.
The ratings result in grades for each lawyer. As in colleges and universities, they are calculated as a GPA [grade point average]. Attorneys with high GPAs receive the special designation of "Cum Laude", "Magna Cum Laude" or "Summa Cum Laude".
The grading system is open for the appraisal of clients, peers, decision makers, experts and staff of the attorneys who are enrolled in the program. These sources of information provide a transcript which allows a thoughtful assessment of the quality of legal services. Any person from the designated 360 degree categories may rate a lawyer and leave a letter of reference, comment or recommendation. Attorneys may invite persons from the various areas of acquaintance to provide ratings. A registration and transcript fee is charged to attorneys who are enrolled in the program.
